Fundraising & Engagement/Partnerships Manager (part-time, contract)

VWHC is seeking a part-time (24 hours per week) contract Fundraising & Engagement/Partnerships manager. This position will develop and manage VWHC’s diverse revenue strategy, facilitating traditional and nontraditional fundraising opportunities (earned income, government, foundation, individual donors and grants). The role will build and manage multiple revenue streams in alignment with VWHC’s strategic priorities and revenue targets. The successful candidate works closely with VWHC’s executive director and the board to facilitate leads and successfully close opportunities.

We at the Vancouver Women’s Health Collective are a non-profit organization helping all who self-identify as women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming foster health, wellness, and equity through feminist approaches to advocacy, shared knowledge, and low-barrier programs and services.

About the position

The selected contractor will be tasked with developing, managing, and expanding VWHC’s revenue through major gifts, grants, government funding, and program initiatives. They should possess an entrepreneurial mindset, adept relationship management skills, and fundraising expertise to offer strategic guidance aimed at maximizing sustained financial backing for the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Works with the Executive Director and the board to implement communication and donor engagement strategies to maximize major giving, government, granting and program opportunities.
  • Generates and implements strategies for new revenue sources.
  • Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding gifts.
  • Coordinates and participates in strategy meetings, preparing briefing and debriefing materials for prospects, donors and stakeholders.
  • Researches and develops government briefs, proposals, grant applications and programs to generate long-term partnerships and financials.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with senior executives in the market, with government and partner organizations.
  • Plans and implements initiatives to promote Blueprint in the marketplace
  • Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of VWHC’s activities, priorities, and needs in research, program development and knowledge mobilization.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (or related experience) in a relevant discipline (marketing, fundraising, communications, business) with a minimum of 6 years’ experience
  • Proven fundraising or business development track record, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Advanced relationship management skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and leverage internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand high-level corporate culture and communicate with diverse people and businesses with ease.
  • Excellent research and communication skills to support development objectives
  • Superior negotiation skills and strong business acumen
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with senior administration, members of the private and public sector communities.
  • Ability to travel frequently as required.
  • Ability to work remotely from home.
  • Tech Savvy

 

Compensation

$35 – $42 per hour, based on experience.
This will be an initial ten month contract which may be extended or adapted to a full-time position.
The successful candidate must supply proof of their own WorksafeBC coverage.
