Advocacy & Media

The Vancouver Women’s Health Collective advocates for appropriate, equitable and quality health care for women through the media, by meeting with elected officials, by speaking out at community events, and through our involvement with coalitions.

Our Advocacy
In The Media

Our priorities:

  • The lack of women-centered and trauma-informed care
  • Women’s reproductive health
  • Women’s health care rights
  • The privatization of health care and its impact on women
  • Barriers to access comprehensive health care for all women

Our actions:

  • Participation in the BC CEDAW group (Convention on Elimination of Discrimination Against Women) that submitted 2 reports to the United Nations
  • Patients in Education (PIE) – advocating for “health professional education that fully integrates patient and community expertise and lived experience to maximise health and social outcomes.”
  • Women’s advocacy organizations and government funding for our work.
