Peer Support Worker Training Program

At VWHC, we recognize lived and living experience as valuable knowledge, expertise, and a powerful foundation for community leadership.

Our Peer Support Worker Training Program provides accessible, trauma-informed education designed to build the skills, confidence, and practical knowledge needed to support others effectively.

Training: Every Tuesday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Transforming Lived Experience Into Leadership

Using BC’s 16-module Provincial Peer Support curriculum, participants explore topics such as communication, boundaries, ethics, harm reduction, mental health, self-care, and peer support principles. Interactive learning, role-playing, group discussions, and community-based projects help participants put their knowledge into practice.

More than a training program, this initiative creates opportunities for personal growth, meaningful participation, mentorship, and pathways toward employment and leadership within the community.
